PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement information detection system which detects a mobile unit to which a wireless IC tag is attached by one antenna and a reader device, identifies the mobile unit, and detects the traveling direction and moving speed thereof. SOLUTION: Two wireless IC tags are attached to the mobile unit with a predetermined distance apart in the moving direction of the mobile unit. On the moving path of the mobile unit the antenna 303 is placed for detecting the two wireless IC tags of the mobile unit individually in order of passing. The moving direction of the mobile unit is decided from the reading order of the two wireless IC tags when the mobile unit passes by the antenna 303. By dividing the placement interval of the two wireless IC tags by the reading time difference of the two wireless IC tags, the moving speed of the mobile unit when passing by the antenna 303 is determined.
