PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable and height adjustable workbench that can be built up in a reliable manner with extremely simple operation. SOLUTION: The workbench having a lateral pair of top plates 1 with the tips connected to each other is provided with a base 2 in a facing manner below the connected position of the top plates 1. Vertical pipes 4 are mounted on the base 2, and upper pipes 5 are liftably fitted in the vertical pipes 4 to form a post frame 6. An upper end 7 of the post frame 6 and side parts 8 of the top plates 1 are provided with connecting metal fittings 9 for stopping the pair of top plates 1 in a folded position and a horizontal position, while the base ends of lower frames 15 of opening/closing leg frames 14 laterally opened/closed around the post frame 6 serving as an axis are turnably pivoted to the right and left of the base 2, and the base ends of upper frames 16 of the opening/closing leg frames 14 are turnably pivoted to the right and left of the upper end 7 of the post frame 6. Upper pipes 18 of the upper frames 16 are liftably fitted in vertical pipes 17 mounted to the lower frames 15. Connecting frames 20 are provided for mutual connection between the upper pipes 5 and the upper pipes 18, and stoppers 22 are provided for the respective upper pipes 5, 18.
