PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter which is formed of a pair of right and left side frames (11) (11) each having a guide groove (112) for slidably holding each end of a shutter opening/closing plate (21) consisting of a plurality of slats bendably connected together, and a braking device for braking the shutter opening/closing plate (21) during closing motion, wherein the shutter does not form a non-braking area where the shutter opening/closing plate (21) freely falls, to thereby improve the braking effect of the shutter. SOLUTION: The braking device is formed of a roller which is press-contacted to a longitudinal external surface of each side frame (11), and rolled. The roller has a function of allowing the shutter opening/closing plate (21) to rotate according to opening motion of the same, whereas inhibits the shutter opening/closing plate (21) from rotating in a direction opposite to the rotation.
