PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam iron which efficiently generates steam and can efficiently iron out wrinkles even if both usual steam and increased steam are simultaneously used. SOLUTION: In the steam iron including a base 4 having a vaporization chamber A5 which generates a usual volume of steam and a vaporization chamber B6 which generates an increased volume of steam while heated by a heater 3 bent at a bending part 2, steam holes 7 which blow off the steam, a nozzle (not shown in figure) through which water drops down to the vaporization chamber A5 and a pumping device which supplies water to the vaporization chamber B6, the vaporization chamber B6 is arranged close to the bending part 2 so that it may surround the vaporization chamber A5, the increased volume of steam is stably obtained since the vaporization chamber B6 is close to the bending part 2 which has most calorific value, moreover, heat required for shaping/drying the clothes can be stored enough since the vaporization chamber B6 is arranged surrounding the vaporization chamber A5 even if the vaporization chamber B6 is rapidly cooled by the increased steam, then, it can efficiently iron out wrinkles.
