In particular, the present invention relates to nucleic acids or nucleic acid fragments encoding amino acid sequences of FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT), TERMINAL FLOWER (TFL), GIGANTEA (GI) and SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) polypeptides.
