The invention relates to a method for communication between a wireless terminal (6) and a wireless access point (AP2) of a network (4) which are configured in such a way as to establish a radio communication channel between them for the terminal to access the network, according to at least one first and one second transmission flow (D1) which are respectively associated with a first and a second threshold value (S1 , S2), the value of the second flow being higher than the first flow. Said method comprises the following steps: a) the terminal measures a reception level of a signal from the access point; b) the level measured and the first threshold value are compared, said comparison being the first comparison carried out by the terminal with a view to deciding to solicit access to the network via the access point, between a measurement of the reception level of the signal from the access point and a threshold level associated with a transmission flow; and c) if the first level measured is higher than the first threshold value, a network access request is sent by the terminal to the access point with a view to establishing a radio communication channel according to the first mode between the terminal and the access point. |
