A foldable carrier (20) for beverages and other objects has a pair of folding receptacles (32, 34) extending outwardly from a central vertical support panel structure (22). In a first embodiment, the vertical support panel structure is made of one material as a first component (22), and an external side wall structure (24) of a second materials, preferably of lower cost, and the two components are joined together. In another embodiment, horizontal slits are formed in the side walls across two or four corners of the carrier, and the resulting horizontal strips (262, 264, 274, 276) of material are bent inwardly to form dividers for separating objects from one another in the receptacles. In a third embodiment, the carrier is made from a blank with a structure for use with a variety of different right-angle gluers. The parts for the carrier can be formed into a compact lay-out in two parallel arrays on opposite sides of the blank. Cut-outs form dividers (452, 454) for each of the receptacles. Preferably, at least one foldable side panel *170, is used to cover the holes left by the cut-outs and to cushion adjacent bottles from one another. |
