<p>An ion generator generating negative ions or positive ions, and capable of generating an appropriate small amount of ozone. The ion generator comprises a ground electrode (42) and a high voltage electrode (43) formed on an insulating substrate (41), an insulating film (44) formed on the surface of the ground electrode (42), and a linear electrode (45). The linear electrode (45) has a root portion soldered to the electrode (43), and the distal end side projecting into a recess (41a). The ground electrode (42) has a pair of legs (42a, 42b) extending in parallel with the linear electrode (45) while holding the linear electrode (45) therebetween on the insulating substrate (41) on the opposite sides of the recess (41a). On the surface of the ground electrode (42), an insulating film (44) is formed over the area other than the electrode (43) in contact with a terminal (5a), a contact portion (42c) in contact with a terminal (5b), and a part of the legs (42a, 42b) at the distal end of the ground electrode (42) opposing the distal end of the linear electrode (45).</p> |
