<p>A process for the humane hilling of animals, especially birds, comprises subjecting the animals to a carbon dioxide atmosphere. The carbon dioxide is supplied in liquid form to a spray tube with outlet openings. Gaseous carbon dioxide is supplied until the pressure in the pipe exceeds 5.2 bar. The outlet opening cross section is less than the pipe cross section, and the diameter is less than 3mm, preferably 1-1.5mm.</p> |
