1,155,269. Extrusion nozzles. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 10 Aug., 1966 [10 Aug., 1965], No. 34138/65. Heading B5A. An extrusion nozzle comprising a die block 1 and tube 2 through which material is extruded by a ram 6 is provided with a liner 4 which runs the length of the nozzle and is removably attached to the upstream end of the block 1 by means of a collar 13. As shown, tube 2 comprises parts 7, 8 and liner 4 is split as at 14 so that part 7 may be moved transversely to the axis of the nozzle by an hydraulic jack 9 coupled to a frame 10 to vary the moulding pressure. Tube parts 7, 8 are coupled to die block 1 as shown in Fig. 2 (not reproduced) and are relieved as at (5d) to permit pivoting. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), liner 4 is held witnin die block 1 by wedges (16) having serrations (17), and a collar (15) may also be provided welded to the liner. Die block 1 and tube 2 may be provided with cooling conduits 11. The nozzle is particularly intended for use with an extrusion machine which forms briquettes from hot, partly devolatilized, coal.
|
