[Also in Division C3] A golf ball comprises a core portion made from a composition comprising cis - 1, 4 polybutadiene, a polymerizable monomeric ester having at least two ethylenically unsaturated bonds, e.g. 1, 3-butylene glycol dimethacrylate, and an oil-soluble non-polymerizable organic compound having a polar group or the constituents thereof, e.g. zinc oxide and stearic acid. The core may also contain filler, antioxidant and polymerization initiator. The core can be chilled to harden and wound with cotton string and then cured, or can be immediately cured. Cover shells are made from a composition of trans-polyisoprene and titanium dioxide, applied to the cores and moulded.
