The sealing ring (1) has an elastic, annular sealing element (4) with at least one spreading lip ring and a supporting ring (3) connected to the sealing ring and of lower elasticity. The supporting ring has a wedge-shaped cross-section in a plane containing a central longitudinal axis (5) and is connected to the sealing element at a base surface (6) at an angle to the central longitudinal axis. An independent claim is also included for a sealing device with an inventive device.
