发明名称 Improvements in or relating to Fuel Cell Electrodes
摘要 1,159,344. Air electrodes with selectively gaspermeable layers. LEESONA CORP. 23 Sept., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965], No. 42464/66. Heading H1B. An air electrode comprises a porous metal substrate having a polymer layer at one surface which is selectively permeable to oxygen and impermeable to carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Suitable substrates include porous, particularly bi-porous, structures of Ni, Cu, Fe, Ti, Ta and Zn. Suitable polymers include polystyrene, polyethylene, P.T.F.E., polytrifluoroethylene, polytrifluorochloroethylene, polyvinyl fluoride and polyvinylidene fluoride and copolymers; normally the layer is 0.1 to 10 mils thick and has pores of diameter less than 0.1 micron. The layer may be applied as a paste or by spraying, and blocking of the substrate pores prevented by temporarily filling them with water-soluble or fusible solids. In the example a bi-porous nickel structure is sprayed with a 24 wt. per cent aqueous suspension of P.T.F.E., vacuum dried and heated at 275‹ C. for 10 minutes, then used as an air electrode in a fuel cell using 20% aqueous KOH as electrolyte.
