A method for adjusting a recording X-speed rating in an optical disc device is provided to normally compensate a synchronous shift quantity although the synchronous shift quantity is greatly generated in an optical disc in which a recording state of a wobble signal is bad by downward adjusting a current recording X-speed rating according to the synchronous shift quantity separated between the physical synchronization of the optical disc and the RF(Radio Frequency) synchronization of a recording signal or a synchronous correction quantity according to the synchronous shift quantity. When data recording operation is performed(S10), a microcomputer detects a synchronous shift quantity separated between the physical synchronization of an optical disc and the synchronization of a recording signal(S11,S12). When the detected synchronous shift quantity is greater than a predetermined reference synchronous quantity(S13), the microcomputer downward adjusts a currently recording X-speed rating(S16).
