A method for controlling calorie of a heater for a dryer is provided to increase the life-span of a relay by reducing on/off times of a heater during a dry process. A method for controlling calorie of a heater for a dryer includes the steps of: detecting initial temperatures inside a drum by a low temperature sensor and a high temperature sensor(S130); determining whether the initial temperature sensed by the low temperature sensor reaches a first temperature or not(S140); determining whether the initial temperature sensed by the high temperature sensor reaches a third temperature or not if the initial temperature does not reach to the first temperature(S200); turning on a high temperature heater when starting a heating process if the initial temperature by the high temperature sensor doesn't reach the third temperature, and turning on a low temperature heater in a first preset time during the heating process(S250,S260,S270); keeping the high and low temperature heaters during a forth preset time(S280); turning off the high and low temperature heaters(S290); cooling off a dry drum by rotating the dry drum reversely during a fifth preset time(S300); and completing a dry process in the fifth preset time. |
