A process and apparatus for producing a paper product. The process comprises a step of discharging the paper in particulate form from a bin or hopper onto a conveyor on which it is to be mixed with water. The process is characterized in that the paper in particulate form is discharged whilst being subjected t o agitation by a plurality of rotatable paddle type agitators, and to even distribution across the width of the conveyor by a plurality of rotatable worm screws.
