A liquid crystal dispensing apparatus is provided to check liquid crystal dispensing error right after the liquid crystal is dispensed by obtaining information on the liquid crystal dispensing error through a liquid crystal droplet counter during liquid crystal dispensing. At least one nozzle(111) relatively moves with respect to a substrate(10). A liquid crystal supply unit(120) supplies liquid crystals to the nozzle such that liquid crystal droplets are dispensed from the nozzle. A liquid crystal droplet counter(130) includes a liquid crystal sensor(131) and a counting control unit(141). The liquid crystal sensor detects whether the liquid crystal droplets are dispensed from the nozzle while the liquid crystals are dispensed by the liquid crystal supply unit. The counting control unit receives the detecting result from the liquid crystal sensor and calculates the number of the liquid crystal droplets dispensed from the nozzle to determine error of the liquid crystal dispensing. The liquid crystal sensor includes a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit. The light emitting unit includes a plurality of light emitting portions and is disposed such that the emitted light passes through a lower portion of the nozzle. The light receiving unit detects whether the liquid crystal droplets are dispensed depending on whether the light emitted from the light emitting unit is received.
