An automatic transmission fluid of low Brookfield viscosity and high shear stability is disclosed which contains a base oil of lubricating viscosity and a combination of a poly alkyl (meth) acrylate viscosity index improver o f low Brookfield viscosity and high shear stability and a functionalized poly alkyl (meth) acrylate viscosity index improver with dispersant properties of high Brookfield viscosity and high shear stability.
