METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING HANDOVER USING NETWORK CONTROL IN DVB-H CBMS SYSTEM

A handover method in a portable DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) CBMS(Convergence of Broadcasting and Mobile Service) system and a device thereof are provided to enable a terminal to perform handover even though a user enters a new cell by moving as watching a selected service, thereby providing a seamless service to the user. An MM(Mobility Management) of SM(Service Management) unit receives a handover proposal message from a terminal(201). Information on a candidate cell to which the terminal is to be handed over is transmitted to the terminal(211). If the terminal is out of a broadcasting network, information for the terminal to receive a service is transmitted to the terminal through an interactive network, and handover is conducted to the interactive network from the broadcasting network(212-214).
