An apparatus for monitoring the rear side of a vehicle is provided to maintain a wanted angle by attaching a rubber layer for increasing the resilient support force and frictional force of a coil spring and adding a packing. An apparatus for monitoring the rear side of a vehicle includes a camera, a cylindrical case(2), a fixing bolt(4), a coil spring, and a fastening nut(5). A lens section and an image processing section are inserted into the interior of the camera. The camera has a communication cable connected to the image processing section. The cylindrical case is screw-coupled with an arc-shaped fixing ring(3) at a front surface. The coil spring supports the body of the camera and adjusts the body of the camera at desired angle through an elastic force. A rubber layer is bonded to the circumference of the rear side of the camera to firmly fix the body of the camera by providing a frictional force and preventing a slide of the body of the camera when the body of the camera makes contact with one end of the coil spring.
