A broadcasting system and a method for providing a multiple broadcasting service are provided to supply screens of all broadcasting channels through a separate channel when realizing the multiple broadcasting service, thereby minimizing the battery consumption of a terminal. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) transmission center(300) reduces image data for each broadcasting channel in broadcasting data for one or more broadcasting channels, generates a transport stream including a separate channel for multiple broadcasting from the reduced image data, and broadcasts the generated transport stream. A DMB terminal(500) receives the reduced image data through a multiple broadcasting channel when there is a request for multiple broadcasting by a user, decodes the reduced image data, and displays the decoded image data on a screen.
