A web client interworking multimedia service system and a method thereof are provided to enable a web client to transmit a multimedia message and an SMS(Short Message Service) message, so as to unify transmission environments, thereby offering a convenient user interface. An MMSWC(Multimedia Message Service Web Client)(500) generates SMS contents or MMS contents. A receiving terminal(100) receives the generated SMS contents or MMS contents. A VAS(Value Added Server)(400) is interworked with the MMSWC through an HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol), and transmits the SMS contents or the MMS contents to a mobile communication service network. An MMSC(MMS Center)(200) is connected with the VAS based on an MM7 protocol, and is connected with the receiving terminal based on an MM1 protocol to send the SMS contents or the MMS contents to the receiving terminal.
