LIGHT GENERATING UNIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A light generating unit and a display device having the same are provided to improve the display quality of an image, by making a light generating unit supply a light having spectrum of tristimulus value to a display panel. A red light generator(RD) outputs red light(RL) having the maximum intensity in a wavelength band ranging from 590 nm to 610 nm. A green light generator(GD) outputs green light(GL) having the maximum intensity in a wavelength band ranging from 540 nm to 560 nm. A blue light generator(BD) outputs blue light(BL) having the maximum intensity in a wavelength band ranging from 440 nm to 460 nm. The red, green, and blue light generators correspond to red, green, and blue light emitting diodes respectively.
