A method for treating leachate of a landfill and an abandoned mine using a multifunctional permeable reactive barrier system which enables leachate to be discharged even without a leachate treatment plant, or performs a pre-treatment function before sending the leachate to the leachate treatment plant, and a method for constructing the multifunctional permeable reactive barrier system are provided. A method for treating leachate of a landfill and an abandoned mine using a multifunctional permeable reactive barrier system(1) comprises: a first treatment step of passing leachate collected in a catchment well(30) through a front reactive barrier(11) which is continuously installed in the catchment well and made by sealing the mixed material after filling a mixed material of zero-valent iron and steelmaking slag in non-woven fabric; and a second treatment step of passing the first treated leachate through a rear reactive barrier(12) which is continuously and integrally formed with the front reactive barrier and made from a spent tire treated with microorganisms such that the second treated leachate can be directly discharged to the outside even without a leachate treating plant, wherein flakes of the spent tire are coated with activated carbon having a particle size of 1 to 10 mum such that contaminants are reacted with the bio-film, mineralized and removed by increasing the specific surface area of the flakes, thereby promoting the formation of a bio-film through microorganism attachment. |
