A light transmitting button cover and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to achieve improved night visibility by allowing light emitted from a light source to be uniformly diffused all over the front surface of the cover body. A light transmitting button cover includes a cover body(11) which is smoke-injected, an outer spray layer(12) formed on the surface of the cover body, a symbol unit(13) for engraving characters or signs on the outer spray layer through laser cut such that light emitted from a light source(20) arranged underneath the cover body penetrates through the characters or signs, and a diffusion medium arranged within the cover body to diffuse light emitted from the light source uniformly. The diffusion medium is a light diffusion filter(15).
