A selecting and signaling method for uplink and downlink bandwidths within a wireless network is provided to be capable of transceiving data and signals by dividing a cell bandwidth into various sub-bandwidths, thus a faster and efficient data and signal transmission is available. One or more than one of sub-bandwidths is allocated to one cell bandwidth so as to support uplink or downlink communication. The uplink or downlink communication is carried out according to the one or the more than one of the sub-bandwidths. The one cell bandwidth is divided into the plural sub-bandwidths. Signals are received from a mobile terminal in order to decide how the allocation step is executed.
