A synchronous detection device is provided to detect line length by using an external clock irrespective of an input image signal and detect a synchronous position by using the detected line length. A counting unit(410) counts the number by a certain counting number in response to a clock signal. An error detecting unit(430) generates difference between a current counting value and previous line length as an error in response to a synchronous indication signal of the first level. A line length generating unit(450) generates current line length in response to a correction error in which the error is automatically corrected and the counting number. The synchronous indication signal has the first level in a falling edge or a rising edge of a synchronous pulse included in an input signal and has the second level in the other interval.
