A fast connection method is provided to allow a user to quickly initiate a call with the final speaker without having to exchange a H.245 message. A call establishing procedure is performed through an H.225 message between a caller and a callee(S1). An H.246 message is transmitted and received, and exchange information that can be obtained through the H.245 message is temporarily stored(S2). It is checked whether there is a request for setting a fast connection group from a user(S3). When there is a request for setting a fast connection group from the user, a terminal transmits a fast connection group setting request message to the other party(S4). When the terminal receives a fast connection group setting ACK message(S5), it stores the exchange information obtained through the H.245 message in a main memory(S6), and the fact that the fast connection group has been set is displayed to a user(S7). When transmission/reception of the H.245 message and setting of the fast connection group are completed, the both terminals perform a VoIP call according to a general VoIP call procedure(S8).
