A process for the preparation of compound with potential physiological properties of 2-diethylamino-4-methyl-6-(2'-bromo-1',1'-difluoro-2'-chloroethoxy)-pyrimidine comprises the reaction of nucleophilic substitution between 2-diethylamino-4-methyl-6-hydroxypyrimidine which acts as nucleophile and known anesthetic agent (2-bromo-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-chloroethane) halothane as fluorine-containing synthon in the system of solvents (benzol-dimethyl formamide) under conditions of phase-transfer catalysis with dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether in alkaline medium.
