The device has processing elements (3, 6) presenting high design assurance levels(DAL) respectively. The elements are formed in a manner to determine a flight line and control the flight line using the information from databases (2, 5), respectively. The database contains pre-calculated performances of an aircraft and permits to provide maximum gradient of climb flyable by the aircraft with the engine in operation according to the parameter e.g. aircraft`s speed. The performances are saturated on the better gradient of climb flyable by the aircraft with break down engine.
