摘要	An air bag system of a vehicle and an operating method thereof are provided to prevent an air bag from being operated in cases where a safety belt is worn on an infant safety seat or goods mounted on a passenger seat. An air bag system of a vehicle includes a non-contact electrode sensor unit and an air bag control unit. The non-contact electrode sensor unit is arranged in a safety belt(12), and generates electric field and senses the variation of the electric field. The air bag control unit judges the existence of a seat occupant by checking the variation of the electric field transmitted from the non-contact electrode sensor unit, and determines whether to operate an air bag.
