An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent a lamp from being damaged due to collision between the lamp and a light guiding plate, by forming at least one catching portion on a lamp cover so that the lamp cover stably supports the light guiding plate. A lamp(510) is installed at a lateral surface of a light guiding plate(400). A lamp cover(530) has a receiving part(531) for receiving the lamp, and an opening(533) formed in one surface thereof. The lamp cover is contacted with one end portion of the light guiding plate within the opening thereof. At least one catching portion(540) is formed on an inside wall surface of the lamp cover to prevent the light guiding plate from being contacted with the lamp.
