#CMT# #/CMT# The method, for use on microspores isolated from the flower buds of brassica plants, especially Brassica napus or Brassica oleracea, consists of isolating the microspores in a culture and treating the culture with a specific biosynthesis path inhibitor or ethylene. The inhibitor is preferably one selected from cobalt chloride, (2-aminoethoxyvinyl)-glycine and silver thiosulfate, and the microspores in culture can be subjected to a thermal shock at 30 - 35 degrees C for 24 - 72 hours. The culture period is followed by incubation for sufficient time to obtain young embryos, i.e. at least 15 days in darkness and a further 15 in light at a temperature of 19 - 27 degrees C. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Promoting embryogenesis of plant microspores. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method is a simpler one for creating embryogenesis and gives a higher yield of embryos and plants.
|
