#CMT# #/CMT# The power cylinder consists of a housing (32) with two chambers (38A, 38B) for a double piston (24) with a face (46A, 46B) in each chamber, and a piston thrust transmission system (54). The thrust surfaces (52A, 52B) lie in line with the cylinder's axis (X - X'), with one surface entirely covering the other. The two chambers are separated by a partition (36), and the total thrust of the two pistons is transmitted by a rod (54B) connecting the two pistons and the cylinder (54A) of the second piston in contact with the brake pad (26). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Motor vehicle disc brake. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The design of the piston assembly makes for increased braking effort without increasing the cylinder's lateral dimensions. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a cross-section of the brake assembly. 24 : Double piston 26 : Brake pad 32 : Housing 36 : Partition 38A, 38B : Chambers 46A, 46B : Piston faces 52A, 52B : Thrust surfaces 54A : Cylinder 54B : Rod.
|
