STEAM TURBINE AND SOLAR HEAT RANKINE SYSTEM USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a steam turbine by increasing the efficiency thereof by increasing an impact force effectively utilizing the jetting speed of a steam from the nozzle of the steam turbine.

SOLUTION: This steam turbine 16 comprises a rotor 3, and an impeller 5 and the nozzle 1 fitted to the rotor. The steam jetted from the nozzle 1 is allowed to strike the impeller 5 of the rotor 3 in a predetermined direction. Since the inflow direction of the steam to the rotor 3 is always fixed to an optimum value to maintain the maximum impact force transmitted to the rotor 3 by the steam, the efficiency of the steam turbine can be increased. Consequently, the size of the steam turbine 16 can be reduced and the structure thereof can be simplified.
