PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system whereby a receiver side can reproduce a particular scene such as a highlight scene of program information of a live broadcast or a broadcast closer to the live broadcast almost in real time. SOLUTION: The communication system includes: a transmitter for coding program information of the live broadcast or the broadcast closer to the live broadcast, indicating the particular scene in the program information, generating additional information including interval information generated with a time delay delayed from the particular scene, transmitting the coded program information including the particular scene, and transmitting the additional information with a time delay delayed from the particular scene; and a receiver consisting of a down-converter 44 for receiving a broadcast signal including the program information and the additional information, an ISDB tuner 46, a signal separation section 50, a highlight information detection section 58 for detecting the interval information included in the additional information in the received broadcast signal and denoting the highlight scene in the video information, and a control section 60 for recording the video information to memory means 62, 64, 70 and reading the highlight scene in the video information denoted by the interval information from the memory means.
