PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronization system by which phonebook data is synchronized between different IC cards. SOLUTION: The synchronization system is comprised of a first portable terminal 5 and a second portable terminal 6, wherein first phonebook data 305 held in a first IC card 27 of the first portable terminal 5 is transmitted to a second IC card 28 of the second portable terminal. The second IC card 28 of the second portable terminal compares the first phonebook data transmitted from the first portable terminal 5 with the second phonebook data 305a held by itself and when there is a different part, rewrites the second phonebook data 305a to the content of the first phonebook data 305.
