PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter capable of measuring an external quantum efficiency with sufficiently high reproducibility, and a photodetection device equipped therewith. SOLUTION: This adapter 30 is equipped with the first end face 31F1having the first opening 301 connected to a light introduction hole 201 for introducing light to be measured into an integrating sphere 20, which is mounted detachably on the integrating sphere 20 for observing the light to be measured emitted from a sample S; the second end face 31F2having the second opening 302, on which the sample abuts; and the inner wall surface 31a provided between the first opening 301 and the second opening 302, for reflecting the light to be measured. The inner wall surface 31a has a taper shape enlarged from the end face 31F2on the sample S side toward the light guiding direction to the end face 31F1on the integrating sphere 20 side, and the length L in the light guiding direction is longer than the diameter of the second opening 302.
