PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption while reducing refrigerant flowing sound and ensuring a necessary dehumidification quantity in dehumidifying operation for performing dehumidification while preventing drop of room temperature by a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: In a dehumidification throttle device to be used in dehumidifying operation, which is disposed between two pieces of a halved use-side heat exchanger, when a valve rod 15 contacts a valve seat 20 to close a valve port 21, a refrigerant throttle passage 28 is formed by a cutout groove 19 provided in the valve seat 20 and the valve rod 15, and valve chambers 23 and 24 are mutually connected by the refrigerant throttle passage 28. Even if the passage 28 is clogged by dust or the like, the dust can be removed by raising the valve rod 15. Therefore, the passage 28 can be narrowed to increase the refrigerant throttle quantity, whereby the evaporation temperature can be reduced. Consequently, since the necessary refrigerant circulation quantity can be minimized while ensuring a necessary dehumidifying quantity, the refrigerant flowing sound can be reduced, as well as the kinetic energy of the refrigerant flow. Further, the minimization of the refrigerant circulation quantity leads to reduction in rotating speed of a compressor and thus reduction in power consumption. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
