PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an accident such as short-circuit of an electric part or functional damage by intrusion of an insect or small animal into an electric part box 17. SOLUTION: In the outdoor unit for air conditioner provided with the electric part box 17, which comprises a casing the inside of which is divided into a heat exchange chamber 8 including a fan and a heat exchanger and a machine chamber 9 including a compressor by a partition plate, and is adapted to take cooling air from the machine chamber 9 side and discharge the cooling air distributed in the inner part to the heat exchange chamber 8 side, a cooling air suction port 20 and a cooling air exhaust port 21 provided in the electric par box 17 are formed in a mesh form, whereby the risk of failure such as functional damage by short-circuit of an electric part such as a printed board stored in the electric part box 17 can be prevented.
