The device has a lever frame (11), and a clamping arm designed as a base bar, where the arm has two ends facing the lever frame. A clamping arm (13) and an operating lever (12) are connected through a connecting link (18) and are attached pivotably at the lever frame. A clamping unit (30) is arranged in an area of one of the ends of the clamping arm, such that bars (16) of the clamping arm are exchanged through couplers (20) arranged on both the sides of the bars. Each coupler has slots, which intervene positively at the bars.
