<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve charging preservation characteristics of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which contains lithium cobaltate as a positive electrode active material and is charged until the potential of the positive electrode reaches 4.4-4.5 V (vs. Li/Li+). <P>SOLUTION: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material other than metallic lithium, and an electrolyte. Lithium cobaltate is contained as a main agent of the positive electrode active material, a compound having an ether group is contained 0.1-10 vol% in the non-aqueous electrolyte, and the positive electrode active material and the negative electrode active material are contained so that the charge capacity ratio of the negative electrode to the positive electrode may be 1.0-1.2 when charged until the potential of the positive electrode reaches 4.4-4.5 V (vs. Li/Li+). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
