<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that cost rise is caused if a dedicated sensor and a control circuit are mounted in order to automatically perform registration correction in a color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the color image forming apparatus, image forming positions of respective toner colors are deviated because of the thermal expansion of respective parts in the apparatus and the positional deviation of components due to change with lapse of time. The registration correction must be performed to correct such deviation. In order to achieve automatization without causing the cost rise, an optical detection device for measuring a patch pattern which is used for the density correction of the respective toner colors and an optical detection device which is used for the registration correction are made for common use, whereby the problem on the cost rise is solved and the automatic registration correction is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
