Device has sensor plate (13) integrated into the fuel cell stack. The sensor chips (19) of the sensor plate are arranged between two isolating layers (16,17). The sensor plate has two grades of sensor chips. Electrical lines are guided along one of the insulating layers to the outer edges of the sensor plate. An independent claim is also included for: the fuel cell stack.
