<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system in which operating states of a plurality of slave stations can be obtained from a base station. <P>SOLUTION: A radio communication system includes radio communication units 101 and 111 which are active and standby base stations, respectively and a central processing section 106 which controls the radio communication units. The radio communication unit 101 includes a control section 123 which controls signal processing sections 102 and 103, and a database section 126 for storing operating state, the database section includes first and second interfaces 124 and 125, the central processing section accesses the database section via the first interface, and the database section is accessed via the second interface from a radio circuit.
