<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of preventing the situation where a heating means is damaged, when recording material is biased to one end side or the other end side in the width direction of the recording material and is conveyed. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, temperature detection means 35a to 35c are arranged in a conveying region, out of the conveying area of the recording material P, conveyed by a recording material conveying means 6, on one end side of the recording material from a center, in the width direction orthogonal to the conveying direction, and also a detection means 9 for detecting that the recording material is arranged in the conveying region on the other end side thereof. When the recording material is not detected by the detection means 9, a control means 40 releases recording material conveying action by the recording material conveying means. When the recording material is detected by the detection means 9, the control means starts recording material conveying action by the recording material conveying means, and also allows the recording material conveying means to perform throughput control for widening the conveying interval of the recording material, based on the temperature detected by the temperature detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
