<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording layer for an optical information recording medium and the optical information recording medium, which are excellent in writing/reading characteristics, C/N characteristics, jitter characteristics, recording sensitivity characteristics, reflectivity characteristics and environment-resisting characteristics and can be applied to a next-generation type optical disk, and a sputtering target useful for forming the recording layer. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical recording layer for the optical information recording medium, on which a recording mark is formed by the irradiation of a laser beam, a first mode of the recording layer is made of an Sn base alloy including 1-50 atomic percentage of Ni and/or Co, its second mode is made of an Sn base alloy including ≤30 atomic percentage of one or more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of In, Bi and Zn in addition to the element in the first mode and its third mode is made of an Sn base alloy including 10 or less atomic percentage of rare earth elements as other elements in addition to the elements in the second mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
