PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional composition that enables stabilized paper making when it is applied to the press roller and to provide a method for improving the peelability of the wet paper using the same. SOLUTION: The functional composition is used by applying it to the press rollers for removing the moisture and includes a compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein R is an organic group which may be substituted or H atom; p and r are each independently an integer of 0 to 228 and q is an integer of 0 to 69 wherein p, q, r cannot be 0 at the same time).
