PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision sensor, a vehicle control device, and an adaptive vehicle type identifier discriminating method capable of avoiding an erroneous installation of a collision sensor in which conduction conditions different from the conduction conditions to adapt to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle concerned are set. SOLUTION: The collision sensor 24 structured so that its part between the terminals a and b is put in the conduction state by an impact is equipped with a resistance element 38 connected between the terminals a and b, in which the preset conduction conditions for the terminals to be put in the conduction state are made possible to be discriminated on the basis of the resistance value of the resistance element 38.
