PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability when a seating occupant makes a shift operation for a transmission gear. SOLUTION: This seat device 10 for a vehicle reduces a restraining degree relative to a seating occupant of a movable side support part 26 (step S4) when it is determined as a timing to change the speed of a transmission gear 14 (step S3: YES). Accordingly, if the seating occupant makes the shift operation for the transmission gear 14 at this timing, the seating occupant can change the gear relative to the transmission gear 14 without restraints of the movable side support part 26.
